This mosaic was my  first collaboration with Coronado
High School students. Each summer in Spreckel's Park, the
city hosts a weekly concert. Community members come in
their numbers to picnic, play, and hear music. An integral part
of every Coronadan's life, the students, city and I thought that
the message of music and community would be ideal for
Coronado's first public mosaic.

As word spread of the project, people would show up at the
mosaic site to help place tiles. This is truly a community effort.

This mosaic now forms the backdrop for every Concert in the Park.
